BC EggFest
Overview
As Creative Director for BC EggFest, I spearheaded a transformation for Fraser Valley's largest BBQ festival. Joining the team in 2023, I initially focused on just design and PR marketing, but returned in 2024 to head the event's identity and marketing strategies while preserving its iconic essence.
Challenges:
BC EggFest faced the challenge of outdated branding and marketing materials, limited budget for website redesign, and a niche target audience of Big Green Egg owners. The festival's website appeared dated, hindering its appeal to a broader audience, while existing designs lacked professionalism and cohesion.
Solution
To address these challenges, I initiated a comprehensive overhaul, redesigning the website, creating new marketing collateral, and refining the festival's branding. Leveraging my marketing skills, I optimised messaging to appeal to a wider audience of BBQ enthusiasts. Despite budget constraints, I utilised an inexpensive hosting service (weebly) for the website redesign and developed professional handouts, sponsor kits, attendee kits, and merchandise.
Key takeaways
Website Redesign: Overcame budget limitations by utilising an inexpensive hosting service (weebly) to redesign the festival's website, providing a modern and user-friendly interface.
Brand Refinement: Transformed BC EggFest's branding with professional marketing collateral, optimized messaging, and cohesive design elements, appealing to a broader audience.
Visual Consistency: Introduced pattern designs for backdrops and created Lightroom presets for photographic consistency, ensuring a unified visual identity across all marketing materials.
